2009 Clothing Trends!

Hey everyone! It’s time to talk about hot trends for 2009…because before we know…the New Year will be here!

Wedding Gowns and Accessories:

It’s all about the vintage this year! Whether it’s your grandmother’s dress or your mother’s gown, it’s totally in. What about even remaking it? Some ideas are to just use specific pieces from each! Now you have your something old too!

Vintage is evidenced in cap sleeves, plunging halter necklines, satin, ruffles, and light draping. Brocades will be big as well. Big jewels with lots of sparkle and open toed shoes are a must! But please…if you wear the open shoes…. leave the panty hoes at home!

Color Palette:

PURPLE, PURPLE, PURPLE. It’s hot! Especially with brown! From deep violet to pale lavender…purple is all the rage! Match that with a tea-length dress for your girls and you are all set! Did someone say BROWN TUXEDOS too? We have those here at Dunhill and can I say they look HOT on the men.

Although these are the new trends, it’s important to remember when planning your wedding that they are just that…trends. Your wedding should be a reflection of you and what feels most like the two of you. Your wedding day shouldn’t be a mere definition as to what everyone is doing. But of course it doesn’t hurt to incorporate some of these fresh ideas.
