2009 Trends
December 2, 2008 by admin
I can hardly believe Thanksgiving is past and Christmas will be here before we know it. And before we can catch our breath we will be welcoming in the New Year!
Here are some more ideas for those trendy thinkers out there.
Flowers
It’s all about color. The traditional white and ivory centerpieces at weddings are so last year. Colors will be bold accompanied with matching linens and themed throughout the celebratory evening. The exotic flowers seem to be more popular than ever. But it isn’t just a low centerpiece taking the main stage. It’s cascading arrangements full of bright and exotic colors.
Decor
Those bold and bright colors will not be present just in flowers. You will notice brides caring the color theme throughout the entire day. From the wedding stationary to the wedding cake…color is in!! Purple will be a hot color spring, summer, winter, and fall. Accent that with a platinum tone and you have yourself a “trendy” palette…if you will.
Cakes
It isn’t only about what it looks like to the eye anymore but what it tastes like now too. Brides are going crazy for the exotic flavors and unusual taste combinations like cappuccino and mocha cakes. Or why not try various tiers of cupcakes all in different flavors and designs. That always makes a statement too. But don’t think for one minute an exotic flavor is trendy enough. For all you trend setters out there, plan on a “couture” like cake to please your guests. Pearl and lace designed cakes are so outdated. It’s frills and polka dots and stripes that are taking the icing by surprise. A patterned frosting is sure to be the “icing on the cake.”
