Our favorite wedding site-ings…-Dunhill Tuxedos Bridal Blog

When planning your wedding, the internet at your fingertips is a huge help.  It’s finding what is going to be the best and most helpful website that is the hard part.  From budgets, to honeymoons and simple planning ideas, we have selected our favorite wedding websites to help you get to that big day.

planning

1. www.Stylemepretty.com

A great website/blog to get ideas from early on in the wedding planning stage. Gives you an idea of what color palettes are going to look like with the large amounts of wedding inspiration boards on the site.

2. www.Simpleseating.com

Seating charts can be a headache throughout the wedding planning. The more organized your seating chart is, the less hectic it will be.  Simpleseating.com can help give you a visual for the seating chart and click and drag names.  For events up to 50 guests, it’s free which is great for showers or small weddings and $19.95 one time for events up to 350 which would be larger weddings. Take a look at the demo on the site and then 20 bucks may not sound like that much once you see what you can do.

3. www.Animoto.com

Picture slideshows are a great idea for rehearsal dinners and/or weddings.  Animoto.com lets you upload all your pictures and choose the music you want.  They take the content and  put a slideshow together for you. You can then email it to family and friends or download onto your computer.  The guys that created this site used to work in film and music editing for VH1 and MTV.  The great thing about this is that it is only $3.00 per video or you have the option to subscribe for $30.00 a year for unlimited videos.

Invitation Extras

4. www.Verseit.com

You don’t have to worry about finding invitations via websites, because you can find FREE ones at Dunhill with over 40 books to choose from, but verseit.com can help you with all the etiquette. It is broken up into different categories: verse it, ask it, adorn it, and address it.  It’s an easy to use website that gives you visuals about how to string through your ribbon through your invitation and has print out addressing guides for envelopes.

5. www.Zazzle.com

Lots of wedding invitations make for lots of wedding postage.  You can go the forever stamp route, or if you have room in the budget, go to zazzle.com and look at all the cute wedding postage options they have.  From save-the-date to bride and groom monograms to personalized pictures on your stamps.  It’s an extra detail that is sure to make your guests go “look at this”.

Budget helper/Finance

6. www.smartypig.com

We all know you can’t have a wedding without a budget, and budgets can be hard to keep.  Smartypig.com is an online financial planner/budget keeper that allows you to create a free account to work towards your amount objective.  You can even earn interest on the money that you save.  The site lets you decide if you want to make your monetary goal public which allows family and friends to contribute.

big day beauty

7. www.Bubbleandlo.typepad.com

If you are having any lack of beauty ideas for the big day, this is a great blog to reference.  Make-up tips, hair designs and more.  They have great step by step instructional videos to create or maintain a certain look.

8. www.Zappos.com

If you haven’t already heard of it, Zappos.com is the place to do your online shoe shopping.  If you’re trying to get the bridesmaid shoes to match and can’t find the right sizes or right prices turn to zappos for everything all in the same place.  They offer free shipping and free returns which makes online shoe buying a piece of cake.  If you’re a fan of TLC’s Stacy and Clinton, they are the featured shoe company on What Not to Wear.

Honeymoon/out of towners

9. www.Weddingmapper.com

If you’ve already given out a general map card with the invitation, but want to have maps for the from here to there locations such as the church or at the hotels for the out of town guests, create one on weddingmapper.com.  It’s easy and ends up with a good presentation.

10. www.Tripadvisor.com

I would never take a trip without consulting this site, especially my honeymoon.  This site is made up of tons and tons of user reviews about the destination, hotels, restaurants and things to do in the area.  You get to hear right from the consumer, not the written advertising blurb.  There are extra pictures and videos you won’t  find on the actual website for the destination.  You will also read tips from previous travelers and an email sign up is available that will send you information and specials customized to your destination of choice.  You can also use to research hotels in the wedding area for your out of town guests.

And remember, after giving you this eyeful of helpful knowledge, we know you’re going to make our blog your number one wedding website :)

Until next time….Happy wedding planning!
