We all know brides and grooms planning their wedding obviously want their wedding day to go as smooth as possible. At Dunhill, we understand that importance. We know that its a fun whirlwind of a day full of pictures, remembering vows, making sure you greet all your guests, trying to convince your newly married spouse to NOT smash cake in your face…so why add another worry with attire? Well…we got your back with our back-up tuxedos and accessories at each location!
This is how your whole Dunhill experience will work:
You will come in intially as a couple and register your wedding by choosing all the styles you would like your wedding party to wear. At this time, there is no registration fee and nothing paid upfront.
The next step is for you to encourage your guys to come in (at least three weeks before the wedding) and have some simple measurements taken that will take no longer than 5-10 minutes. No appointment is need for this. After their measurements, we have them try on a vest and coat on to see what is most comfortable and looks the best for them. At the end of the measurements, they each will receive a reminder card on it with their final fitting day, (usually the Thursday before your event) they’re balance due and when they should return their tuxedo.
When your groom and guys come in for their final fitting, they will try everything on to ensure a proper fit. One of our trained formal wear specialists will look them over and be happy to swap out any items that were lost in measurement translation. Don’t worry if something needs to be changed out, it is very common because of the individual shape of each customer. Additional alterations will be taken care of on the coat sleeves or pant length if needed. All locations have a clean, pressed inventory of accessories in the back that is ready to be switched out. This is a service that we offer because we want to the tuxedo to look as best as possible. Most of the time, everyone will leave the store at that time with their complete tuxedo. Rarely, they will come back after a short time that day or next day for the complete tuxedo, but everything is always ready to go with ample time before the posing of the pictures begins. This is a subject you want to inquire when you are shopping for tuxedo wedding wear because the honest truth is sometimes at other retailers, they have to ship the unfit items back to a satellite store, sometimes 100+ miles away to get another size. Which is precious time before a very precious day.
At Dunhill, we also give your groom an emergency card to keep in his pocket on the day of your wedding. The card has our hours and phone number on it. If something goes wrong with the tuxedo attire on that day between those hours, we will gladly do an emergency run and bring the item that needs to be switched out. People laugh when we say call us if someone splits their pants, but it happens!
