If you are on a centerpiece budget, flowers can be pricey.  There are many other items that can be used for the center attention of your tables and depending how you do it, they can end up being money savers.  If you love the look of flowers, try incorporating these items with the flowers for more of an unique look.  The less flowers you use, the less expensive the centerpiece can be.  Another option is to do half of the tables with flowers, and  the others with these items.  This helps break up the look and create a want to mingle as they makes the rounds to see the centerpieces.  You can also save money by doing the centerpieces yourselves.  Make sure to check with your hall about the allowance of flowers, open flame or any other restrictions they might have. read more...
