Dunhill’s GOT YOUR BACK! Learn about our back stock inventory for your wedding day…

We all know brides and grooms planning their wedding obviously want their wedding day to go as smooth as possible. At Dunhill, we understand that importance. We know that its a fun whirlwind of a day full of pictures, remembering vows, making sure you greet all your guests, trying to convince your newly married spouse to NOT smash cake in your face…so why add another worry with attire? Well…we got your back with our back-up tuxedos and accessories at each location!

This is how your whole Dunhill experience will work:

You will come in intially as a couple and register your wedding by choosing all the styles you would like your wedding party to wear. At this time, there is no registration fee and nothing paid upfront.

The next step is for you to encourage your guys to come in (at least three weeks before the wedding) and have some simple measurements taken that will take no longer than 5-10 minutes. No appointment is need for this. After their measurements, we have them try on a vest and coat on to see what is most comfortable and looks the best for them. At the end of the measurements, they each will receive a reminder card on it with their final fitting day, (usually the Thursday before your event) they’re balance due and when they should return their tuxedo.

When your groom and guys come in for their final fitting, they will try everything on to ensure a proper fit. One of our trained formal wear specialists will look them over and be happy to swap out any items that were lost in measurement translation. Don’t worry if something needs to be changed out, it is very common because of the individual shape of each customer. Additional alterations will be taken care of on the coat sleeves or pant length if needed. All locations have a clean, pressed inventory of accessories in the back that is ready to be switched out. This is a service that we offer because we want to the tuxedo to look as best as possible. Most of the time, everyone will leave the store at that time with their complete tuxedo. Rarely, they will come back after a short time that day or next day for the complete tuxedo, but everything is always ready to go with ample time before the posing of the pictures begins. This is a subject you want to inquire when you are shopping for tuxedo wedding wear because the honest truth is sometimes at other retailers, they have to ship the unfit items back to a satellite store, sometimes 100+ miles away to get another size. Which is precious time before a very precious day.

At Dunhill, we also give your groom an emergency card to keep in his pocket on the day of your wedding. The card has our hours and phone number on it. If something goes wrong with the tuxedo attire on that day between those hours, we will gladly do an emergency run and bring the item that needs to be switched out. People laugh when we say call us if someone splits their pants, but it happens!

It is so much fun to get to know all our wonderful bride and grooms, their friends and family and hearing about all the plans and details. Worried about renting tuxedos for out of town wedding party members? Don’t be…We have Nationwide Service!

When finding out the facts on tuxedos, one question you may have is “Does Dunhill Tuxedos have nationwide service?” The answer to this question is YES and it is very simple. We currently have 6 store locations in the United States…three in Michigan and three in Indiana. However, your guys can go anywhere in the nation to get measured with a little help from tuxedofit.com.

You can send your guys to any tuxedo store near them, they can go in and say they need to get measured for an out of town wedding. To help matters more, you can send them to www.tuxedofit.com and they can type in their zip code or city. This will bring up their local formalwear specialists that will fit them for your special occasion at NO CHARGE. They can even print out the downloadable form on that website which shows exactly what they need to get done. After they are measured they have two options…they can send the measurements through tuxedofit.com or they can fax them directly to Dunhill, call them in directly to Dunhill or submit them to us directly on our website. Viola! Their tuxedo is awaiting them the Thursday before your event at the Dunhill store that the pick-up was requested at.

Better yet, when they guys get to their Dunhill pick-up location, they try on their tux for the final fitting. We’ll make any adjustments to the measurements to ensure a perfect fit. We carry an inventory of our items at every store and switch out anything that isn’t just right. Each groom is given an emergency card for the day of their wedding with our number and hours on it. If anything goes wrong with the tuxedos the day of the wedding, we will make local runs during our hours to come and make your tuxedos picture perfect for the big day.

We understand that almost every wedding party has friends and family out of town and they can be from any state. We want to make your wedding planning as easy as possible because, well, we genuinely care about our customers! We love meeting all our brides and grooms and their wedding parties! Can’t wait to meet you and yours…no matter what state or country they are from!

Dunhill Tuxedos OPENS NEW RESALE STORE-You asked for it, they did it…

In the last few years, Dunhill Tuxedos has began to be known for their bi-annual sales, offering great low prices on gently used formal wear. Taking table numbers, escort cards and sign in tables to a whole new level-Dunhill Tuxedos Bridal Blog

Tradition is always nice to include into your wedding, but even better is the element of fun. The visual set-ups at the reception make some of the most enjoyable essentials to choose during your wedding planning process. Forget the common tented place cards or the boring plastic table numbers- and step it up as the wedding world is beginning to take all of those things to a whole new level…and don’t worry our budget conscious brides…this includes you too! Check out our picks of the most fun table numbers, escort card and sign in tables ideas that are guaranteed to make your guests remember the details of your big day!

Escort Boards

A great way to make décor practical and beautiful at the same time. Your place cards will make the visual scene on a bulletin board and your guests will find their name and find their table number and any other information you would like to include on the back of the piece.

Buy a large bulletin board and take a favorite engagement picture of your favorite picture of a landmark you’ve traveled to, a family portrait or alma mater and blow it up just slightly smaller than the bulletin board. Do the math to figure out how many sections the picture is going to have to be turned into. If you have 205 guests, then the picture will have to be split into 205 pieces. Create a grid on the back of the paper and break out the ruler and box cutter to cute the picture into the pieces. It might be a good idea to make a map like grid similar to an atlas grid (alphabetically down and numerically across) to keep track of the pieces so you don’t have to put the puzzle together in the end.

Tack them on the bulletin board and either print or make labels of your guest’s names on the front and table number on the backside of the piece and it will be a beautiful, fun display!

Coordinate your table numbers with your other favorite pictures that keep with the theme of your main display board picture. Place the number on them with a short story about the picture. Place in frames or picture holders.

Chalk it up to an eco friendly, money saving idea.

Chalkboards are cute, practical and different, not to mention great for eco friendly couples. Save money and invest in plywood and chalkboard paint (available at any home improvement store) and paint up the plywood. Purchase chalk in your wedding colors and go to town decorating the board in your guest’s names and table assignments. To keep with the theme, buy smaller wood scraps, use the chalkboard paint as well on them and place them on the tables with the coordinating numbers in chalk. Make the cutest, affordable table numbers. Dress these up by placing your floral arrangement or other centerpiece in the center and you have just gone green and saved green in one cute diy wedding project!

Wire up the place cards

If you have poles or pillars at your venue, string wire around them. This wire should be the kind you use for crafts found at any local craft store. Take clothespins and hang your place cards on the the wire. This makes it fun for your guests to spot out their place cards on the pole. If you don’t have any poles or pillars, string the wire in the foyer and hang the place cards on it with clothespins. It makes a great display for your guests to gush over as they make their entrance.

Make your sign in books F-U-N

Guest books are a handy tradition. But how much fun can the blank book with lines for your guests to sign their names be? Pick out your favorite book as a child-Oh the places you’ll go by Dr. Seuss or where the sidewalk ends by Shel Silverstein or some other fun and rather large book you guys have in common and let your guests sign where they choose. You will always have the most sentimental version of the copy of your most memorable book.
